High Quality Demands Confirmed by Certification

Silicon Software GmbH’s quality management system has been ISO 9001 certified. In accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 certification standard, a company-wide quality management handbook has been issued in which all procedures relevant to process quality compliance are combined and clearly documented for all Silicon Software employees.
“With this certification, we underscore just how firmly Silicon Software stands for the highest quality and reliability, and this signals to our customers that constant optimization of our products and services and our high standards for customer focus aren’t just lived every day, but are permanently anchored in our company processes,” explained Klaus-Henning Noffz, Managing Director of Silicon Software.

Clearly Defined Processes

In the areas of hard- and software development, quality is a crucially significant topic, making effective quality management essential for the success of product development and client projects. Silicon Software’s quality management system addresses all value-generating tasks using clearly defined, efficient and market-driven processes: from new client acquisition/customer inquiries and rapid order processing, to actual technical advising, planning and development, to long-term customer service, including training programs offered by Silicon Software that enable customers to implement Silicon Software solutions in the most optimal manner.
The certification process was conducted by the Hessen Technical Control Association (TÜV) which certifies corporate management systems in various industries under the brand TÜV PROFiCERT using a two-step process – a document review at the outset, followed by an on-site company audit. Alongside the quality management system itself, corporate management’s assumption of relevant responsibility for quality policy and goals, appropriate resource management, actual product realization including all customer-oriented processes, and long-term measurement, analysis and improvement of existing standards all occupy a central role in the audit as well.

Quality Management Minus Unnecessary Bureaucracy

In the final audit report, the quality management processes documented in the handbook were positively cited for covering all important areas without adding unnecessary bureaucracy or formalities – an approach that reflects Silicon Software’s corporate culture as that of a flexible, owner-operated enterprise in a dynamic market setting.

Armed for the Future with Balanced Scorecard and Risk Management

Auditors gave the introduction of the Balanced Scorecard system within the company, as well as the implementation of systematically established risk management, positive marks. In this regard, Silicon Software is already optimally equipped for the next step in quality management, ISU 9001:2015 certification, which — along with other innovations — also places more emphasis in particular upon the appropriate handling of process- and product-specific risks and opportunities.
