At ITE 2017 (International Technical Exhibition of Image Technology and Equipment) from 6th to 8th December in Yokohama (Japan) we present in Hall D, Booth 1 in collaboration with our Japanese partner LinX, Corp., our solution portfolio for embedded Vision and Machine Vision for industries such as electronics, robotics, automation as well as Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

The point of focus for our demonstrator will show how defects on metallic surfaces can be detected using Deep Learning with neural networks (CNN). The CNN application is implemented on the FPGA of our frame grabber and processes with a high data rate of approx. 280 MByte/s. The basis for this new functionality is our new CNN operator within a graphical VisualApplets application design, which outputs for each acquired image the exact probability allocation of the defect classes.
